EXPERIENCE

-Mahana Villa offers more than luxury accommodations.-

It also offers fine cuisine, superb art and wine as well as a micro-luxury, immersive experience…an experience which is tailor-made to you and characterized by exceptional hospitality.

Mahana Villa is located in the Nelson/Tasman region, which is truly an exceptional part of the Southern Island of New Zealand that reaches from the golden, sandy beaches of Golden Bay to the snow-capped mountains of The Abel Tasman National Park. Mahana is a region in the Upper Moutere hills just 20 minutes outside Nelson in the Tasman Bay region. It is one of the oldest settlements on The South Island. The property is brilliantly positioned between the Marlborough Sounds and the entrance of the Abel Tasman National Park and is just five minutes off the main regional highway at the heart of Nelson wine country. Nelson is renowned for its sunny, warm climate with the list of year-round activities endless; Swimming, sailing, both deep sea and fly fishing, white water rafting, star gazing, hiking, skiing, helipad picnics, sea kayaking, horseback riding, mountain biking, rock climbing, and golf.

The sunny climate of the Nelson/Tasman region also guarantees that a wide range of fresh produce, meats, seafood, bread, cheeses, and of course, wine are available. One can also find characterful cafes, artisan food producers, and charming villages.

With so much to do and see in the Nelson/Tasman region, Mahana Villa is perfectly positioned for you to enjoy the best New Zealand has to offer…
Vineyard & Winery
Creativity is a practice.  It’s not an inspiration, it’s not an accident. You can’t get somewhere without risking failure.  As far as winemaking, I suppose I have fallen victim to idealism, but natural winemaking celebrates the earth, and it attracts similar idealists.” – Glenn Schaeffer, Mahana Owner/Director
